Community Thread's Holiday Bureau program has been providing personally-chosen gifts and a holiday meal to people in need for over 40 years  The program benefits low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities in the Stillwater school district, including Afton, Bayport, Baytown Township, Grant, Lake Elsmo, Lakeland, Marine, Oak Park Heights, St. Mary's Point, St. Croix Beach, Stillwater and Withrow.
 
Participants register for the program in person and fill out wish lists for each member of their family.  They are also able to choose to receive a voucher for a fresh Christmas tree and letters from "Santa" for their children.  participants are then sponsored by a community group or sponsored by Community Thread, utilizing toy drives and financial contributions.
Drawing upon the help of many volunteers, sponsors, and partners, the 2011 Holiday Bureau was able to serve 986 people, compared to 887 in 2010.  The state of the economy continues to make the holidays a difficult time for families in the area, and the numbers this year show us that the Holiday Bureau continues to meet a significant need for the Stillwater school district.

The Fall There is Only 1 You Women's Expo is a designated Gift Drive location.In lieu of an admission fee to our Women's Expo, we encourage you to bring a gift or cash donation.

• Gifts for teens (DVDs, electronic games, sports equipment, cosmetic sets, picture

• Gift cards (Target, Walmart, Cub Foods, Super America, Kohl's, Old Navy, and other)
• Winter coats, mittens, boots, and hats for all ages
• Rolls of holiday wrapping paper
• Children's movies
• Board games for older kids: Apples to Apples, Taboo, Bananagrams, Scattergories, Cranium, etc.
